Data published by Houzz & Home and shared by Property Reporter revealed that in 2021 the amount we’re spending renovating our homes increased by 36% compared to 2020.

According to the research, this trend of improving our homes is not going anywhere, with around half of those surveyed at the end of 2021 planning to carry out some kind of work on their property in the coming year.

That means the home renovation and construction market is likely to continue to boom as we move through 2022.

The most popular project was having a new kitchen fitted, with 30% of those who answered the survey saying this was at the top of their wish list for 2022. Garden renovations were the second most popular project, with 29% stating they intend to improve their outdoor spaces.
