Top interior design trends for 2023

As we see in the new year, it is often a time to reflect on what has been and to start planning for the months ahead. For some of us, that might mean moving to a new home or making alterations to our current abode.

We all know that interior design trends come and go, but what are the top interior trends to watch out for in 2023? And do you want to incorporate any of them into your home over the coming months?

Here at Bournemouth Constructions, we are on hand to assist you with all manner of renovation projects in Bournemouth, Poole or Christchurch, whether you’re adding an extension to your home or carrying out a full remodel.

According to the Express, one of the top design trends for 2023 has also been popular in 2022 – biophilic design. This simply means bringing nature’s rich green and blue tones into our homes. It can also manifest with additional plants or even wallpapers featuring foliage designs.

If bringing the outdoors in is something you’d like to do more of in your home, you could also explore whether adding larger patio doors will make you feel closer to nature. Alternatively, a garden room might provide the perfect escape where you can get back to nature, even in the depths of winter.

Luxurious living is another trend identified by the newspaper, with one way to inject some luxury into your interiors to opt for gold fittings, like taps or even lampshades, or to pick work surfaces in material such as marble for your kitchen or even bathroom.

Gold fittings was also identified as one of the top interior design trends to watch by the experts who spoke to Good Housekeeping recently. According to Susan Hayward, founder of her self-named interiors company, a return to gold is a sign that more homeowners want warm tones in their abodes, rather than cooler shades like silver.

Homeowners may also want to introduce more archways into their properties, whether these are in the form of rounded door frames, ceilings or thresholds. They are a timeless shape, the magazine noted, and one that can bring some softness to interiors.

Whatever kind of home renovation project you’re planning for 2023, our team of experienced and professional craftspeople and builders are ready and waiting. We can support you with everything from a full home renovation to fitting a new kitchen or bathroom.

Another trend we have identified for the months ahead is retrofitting, which will help homeowners make their properties more energy efficient and thereby lower their energy usage.

It’s understandable that this is a priority for many given how much energy prices have risen since the beginning of 2022, so if you live in an older building it is certainly worth exploring what alterations you can make to your home to make it more energy efficient.

We are always happy to discuss your plans and provide you with a quote for our work. Just get in touch with our team today to learn more about our expertise.
